Jobber vs Housecall Pro: what a small team pays on each
Jobber and Housecall Pro are the two best-known names in field service software for small businesses, and a lot of owners end up choosing between them. Both are good products. They price differently, though, and which one costs less depends almost entirely on how many people will use it. This page lays out both price lists by team size, from each vendor's own pricing page, and says what each is built for. It is written by DoneOnce, a third option, and says so where it comes up.
Jobber's prices were read on https://www.getjobber.com/pricing/ on 2026-09-30, with the team-size selector set to each size. Housecall Pro's were read on https://www.housecallpro.com/pricing/ on 2026-09-30. Both are monthly billing with no commitment, before any introductory discount. Plans change; check both pages before deciding.

Per month, in U.S. dollars. Jobber's plans on that date: Core $49 for 1 user; Connect $139 for 1 user, $199 for 5, $299 for 10 and $399 for 15; Grow $199 for 1 user, $299 for 5, $399 for 10 and $499 for 15; Plus from $499 for 5 users. Each Jobber plan card says users are added at $29 a month each, but Core is sold for "Just me" and takes only one added seat; Jobber's help center says to upgrade to Connect to add more. Housecall Pro's plans on that date: Basic $79 for 1 user, Essentials $189 for 5 users, Max $329 for 8 users. Housecall Pro states an additional-user price only on Max, $35 a month each, so a team of 2 to 5 is priced on Essentials. Paid yearly, Housecall Pro is $59, $149 and $299 a month.
So which one is cheaper?
- Alone: Jobber Core, at $49 against $79.
- Two people: Jobber, clearly. Core takes one added user for $78; Housecall Pro's Basic lists one user and no price for a second, so the second person means Essentials at $189.
- Three to five people: close. Housecall Pro's Essentials covers five users for $189; Jobber's Connect is $197 for three and $199 for five.
- Six people and up: Jobber. Housecall Pro's next step is Max at $329 for 8 users, while Jobber's Connect sells 10 users for $299 and 15 for $399.
The cheapest plan that fits is not always the right plan. Jobber lists automated client reminders, automatic payment collection, quote and invoice follow-ups, QuickBooks Online sync and time tracking as what Connect adds to Core. On both, the features grow with the plan, so compare the plan that has what you need, not only the first one that takes your team.
Card payments are a separate cost on both. Jobber's pricing page lists card rates of 2.9% + 30¢ or 2.7% + 30¢ depending on the plan.
What each one is built for
Housecall Pro is built around the service call: online booking, dispatch, "on my way" texts, invoicing, review requests, consumer financing and a marketing suite. If customers book one-off appointments and an office runs a dispatch board, it is a strong fit.
Jobber covers quoting, scheduling, invoicing and payments for a wide range of home-service trades, with a low entry price for a solo operator and plans sold in 1, 5, 10 and 15-user sizes as the team grows.
Spanish on each
- Jobber: its help center (updated 2026-09-24, read 2026-09-25) says Spanish is available on the web for any team member and in the mobile app for non-admin users; an admin's mobile app stays in English.
- Housecall Pro: its help center (read 2026-09-25) says the mobile app is available in Spanish, some elements such as statuses, alerts and notifications stay in English, and customer notifications are sent in English.
A third option for recurring routes
If most of your week is the same clients on a cycle (a pool route, a lawn crew, a cleaning company), there is a third option built for that shape. DoneOnce is one plan with everything in it: $69 a month for a team of up to 3, $15 per person from the 4th to the 10th and $10 from the 11th, and no platform commission on card payments. Zones by ZIP code put each client on the right day, each technician gets one route per day sent to Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps, and recurring subscriptions are approved and paid from the customer's phone. Everyone can use it in Spanish, the customer included.
It does not have online booking, consumer financing, QuickBooks sync or two-way texting today; if you need those, choose between Jobber and Housecall Pro. The dated one-on-one comparisons are DoneOnce vs Jobber and DoneOnce vs Housecall Pro, and the savings calculator prices your own team on each plan.
Questions
Which is cheaper, Jobber or Housecall Pro?
On both pricing pages on 2026-09-30, Jobber is cheaper for one or two people and for six or more; Housecall Pro's Essentials, at $189 for five users, is slightly cheaper for three to five people. The cheapest plan that fits your team is not always the one with the features you need.
Is Jobber or Housecall Pro better for a small team?
It depends on the work. Housecall Pro leans toward service calls booked online and dispatched by an office; Jobber has the lower entry price and plans sold by team size. For recurring route work, compare a route-first tool too.
How much do Jobber and Housecall Pro cost for 5 users?
On 2026-09-30, Jobber Connect's 5-user plan is $199 a month and Housecall Pro Essentials, which includes 5 users, is $189 a month, both billed monthly. DoneOnce is $99 a month for a team of 5.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Jobber and Housecall Pro?
For a business whose clients repeat weekly, biweekly or monthly, DoneOnce is $69 a month for up to 3 people with everything included, and $99 for 5. It does not have online booking, financing or QuickBooks sync, so it is the cheaper choice only if you do not need those.
