A Service Autopilot alternative for small crews
Service Autopilot is a deep product. Its own site lists lawn care, cleaning, snow removal, pest control and pool cleaning among its industries, and its plans cover automations, route optimization, job costing, chemical tracking and snow dispatch. The questions that bring a small crew to a page like this one are usually about what it costs to start and what the plan includes for the number of people you have. This page puts Service Autopilot's published plans next to DoneOnce's price, marks what Service Autopilot does not publish, and says plainly when it is the better choice. It is written by DoneOnce, which sells a competing product.
Service Autopilot's prices were read on its own pricing page, https://www.serviceautopilot.com/pricing/, on 2026-09-30, in a real browser. The page says all pricing is based on annual subscription rates, and every priced plan shows "+ sign up fee". Plans change; check the page before deciding.
What Service Autopilot publishes
| Plan | Price | Office users included | Mobile licenses included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Startup | $49 a month, billed annually, + sign-up fee | 1 | 1 |
| Pro | $199 a month, billed annually, + sign-up fee | 1 | 2 |
| Pro Plus | $499 a month, billed annually, + sign-up fee | 1 | 5 |
| Elite | Not published ("Contact for pricing") | 2 | 8 |
Prices as published by Service Autopilot on 2026-09-30. Service Autopilot is a trademark of its owner; DoneOnce is not affiliated with it.
What the page does not publish, so this page gives no number for it:
- The sign-up fee. Every priced plan adds one; its amount is not on the page.
- Monthly billing. The prices are annual subscription rates; no month-to-month price is shown.
- An added license. The page says to contact the customer success team to add app users; no price per added user or license is published.
- The Elite plan, and several add-ons marked "Call for Pricing" in the comparison chart.
What a crew pays, by the plan that includes it
Because the price of an added license is not published, the fair comparison is the smallest Service Autopilot plan whose included users cover the crew, with one office user and the rest in the field:
| Crew | Smallest Service Autopilot plan that includes it | DoneOnce, same people |
|---|---|---|
| 2 people (1 office, 1 field) | Startup, $49 a month billed annually, + sign-up fee | $69 |
| 3 people (1 office, 2 field) | Pro, $199 a month billed annually, + sign-up fee | $69 |
| 6 people (1 office, 5 field) | Pro Plus, $499 a month billed annually, + sign-up fee | $114 |
| 10 people (2 office, 8 field) | Elite, price not published | $174 |
DoneOnce is billed monthly, with no contract, no sign-up fee and no annual commitment, and the first two months are free. Its price counts people, not licenses: $69 a month for a team of up to 3, $15 per person from the 4th to the 10th and $10 from the 11th. For a two-person crew that only needs what Startup includes, Service Autopilot's annual rate is lower before the sign-up fee; from the third person on, the plan that includes the crew costs more.
Put your own crew into the savings calculator for the vendors that publish a monthly price; Service Autopilot is not in it because it does not.
What each Service Autopilot plan includes
From the same page on 2026-09-30:
- Startup: scheduling and dispatch, invoicing and integrated payments, expense tracking, customer and lead management.
- Pro: everything in Startup, plus multi-day jobs, route optimization, a dispatch calendar, job costing and analysis, asset, expense and employee tracking, and customized reporting.
- Pro Plus: everything in Pro, plus Automations and their workflows, marketplace access to customize the product, and extra training content.
- Elite: everything in Pro Plus, plus two-way texting, QuickBooks Online two-way sync, a client portal, Smart Maps, email integration, multi-location management and onboarding and training specialists. On the lower plans the chart marks several of these "Call for Pricing".
What DoneOnce is, and what it is not
DoneOnce is built for the business whose week repeats: the same clients on a weekly, every-two-weeks or monthly cycle. A lawn crew is one example; a pool route, a cleaning company or pest control is the same shape. Zones by ZIP code put each new client on the right day; each technician gets one route per day, sent to Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps, with a suggested reorder when a different order saves driving; visits are recorded on the route with photos; estimates with deposits and recurring subscriptions are approved and paid from the customer's phone; the payments center shows who owes what and reminds them by email. Everyone can use it in English or Spanish, per person.
It does not have what Service Autopilot is known for at the top end: no automation workflow builder, no job costing, no chemical tracking, no snow dispatch, no QuickBooks sync and no multi-location management, and texting customers is not live yet. If those run your business, stay.
Stay on Service Autopilot if
- You depend on its Automations, job costing or chemical tracking.
- You run snow removal alongside the season, or several locations.
- You need QuickBooks Online two-way sync or two-way texting.
- Your crew is already trained on it and the price is not what hurts.
Switch to DoneOnce if
- You are two to fifteen people visiting the same clients on a cycle, and you want a published monthly price with no sign-up fee and no annual contract.
- The owner, the office or the crew works in Spanish.
- You want one plan with everything in it rather than add-ons priced by call.
